While there were rumblings earlier today that Malakai Black was unhappy in AEW, there was not further confirmation on the matter.
According to one source however, they were working to get some kind of statement from AEW, however when no such reply came – they’ve gone ahead with the story anyway.
Taking to his Twitter account, Raj Giri wrote, in a series of Tweets:
“I tried…
“I heard an AEW star requested their release, and follow up sources indicate it was Malakai Black. He reportedly has repeatedly shown concerns about his mental health due to personal life and demoralization due to the booking and handling of his character. (1)
“I reached out to AEW for comment earlier today and will provide any updates should I receive anything (2)
I reached out to AEW for comment earlier today and waited all day before posting anything. I will provide any comment should I hear anything”
While no matter how trusted or reliable the sources, it is difficult to know the inner workings of such complicated business and personal dynamics.
At time of writing, there has been no further official comment or update from any of the parties directly involved.
Malakai Black is expected to take part in a Trios match at the upcoming AEW pay-per-view, AEW All Out.
Black will team with his House of Black stablemates, Brody King and another WWE alum, Buddy Matthews to take on the trio of Miro, Sting and Darby Allin.
