Details on the changes made to tonight’s WWE Raw open challenge match against Becky Lynch for the NXT Women’s Championship.
While plans shared by Fightful Select originally noted that there was set to be an open challenge NXT Women’s Championship match, the opponent changed.
The original plans reportedly featured Tegan Nox answering the challenge to have a match against Becky Lynch.
Elsewhere it was noted that a dark match to be taped for Main Event was set to feature Natalya vs. Xia Li.
However, when the dark match occurred and it was actually Tegan Nox vs. Xia Li, there had clearly been a change.
While Becky Lynch came to the ring to offer the open challenge to anyone in the women’s locker room, she was a bit surprised instead to be met by Natalya.
Previously it had been reported that Natalya received praise from WWE for ‘stepping up’ after Lynch wasn’t able to travel to India for the recent Superstar Spectacle.
In the end, Lynch picked up the victory over Natalya to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.
Lynch’s opponent wasn’t the only thing changed from original plans for Raw – find out more at this link.
