India’s first solar space observatory mission, Aditya-L1, has started collecting scientific data. The STEPS instrument, which measures supra-thermal and energetic ions and electrons, has been activated by Isro. The data collected will help scientists analyze the behavior of particles surrounding Earth. The instrument was activated on September 10 at a distance greater than 50,000 km from Earth and is operating within normal parameters.
