(UPDATE) A LIQUOR ban is in effect at certain times and in some parts of the City of Manila, following the issuance of an executive order by Mayor Maria Sheilah “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan, ahead of the 2023 Bar Examinations.
According to the Manila Public Information Office (MPIO), the city government issued an executive order on Friday imposing a liquor ban, prohibiting ambulant vendors, and other disruptive activities.
Under Executive Order 24, a liquor ban is imposed within the 500-meter radius of San Beda University and University of Santo Tomas on the following dates and times:
– midnight of September 16 to 10 p.m. of September 17
– midnight of September 19 to 10 p.m. of September 20
– midnight of September 23 to 10 p.m. of September 24.
Ambulant vendors are also prohibited within the same area of both testing sites from the following dates:
– midnight of September 16 to midnight of September 18
– midnight of September 19 to midnight of September 21
– midnight of September 23 to midnight of September 25.
The use of equipment emitting loud or disturbing sounds, such as, but not limited to, videoke, karaoke, loud sound systems, as well as disruptive activities are also banned during the above dates and times.
