A current AEW star is the focus of an upcoming episode of a WWE documentary series set for release on Sunday, March 19 2023.
The upcoming episode of A&E’s Biography: WWE Legends, now in its third season, will focus on the former Paige, now Saraya in AEW.
In a clip shared on the WWE YouTube channel (that can be seen below this news story), Saraya recounts the call that she received from “DJ” only to find out that it was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and the interaction would lead to the Fighting With My Family movie and her debut on WWE Raw.
Paige joined WWE in 2011 and would debut on NXT in July 2012, going on to become NXT Women’s Champion.
She would make her main roster debut the night after WrestleMania XXX on the April 7 2014 episode of Raw and be a two-time Divas Champion.
She officially retired from in-ring competition in April 2018 as a result of a neck injury sustained in December 2017.
Following her departure from WWE in June 2022, she would debut in AEW in September of that year and reveal that she had been medically cleared to wrestle.
Recently, she has teamed with Toni Storm and Ruby Soho as The Outlaws and was fined for her use of language.
