Victor Osimhen’s Napoli have been paired to face their domestic rivals AC Milan in the Champions League quarter-finals round.
Before the Champions League quarter-finals which took place in Nyon, Switzerland this afternoon, Osimhen had said he wanted Napoli to face a top team because his team is also a top team.
The 24-year-old Nigerian striker was quoted as saying, “We are a top club and it would be good to have a draw with another top club.
“It’s going to be a huge match, it’s going to be great. We are ready for it, and we are ready for any big team we might have to play.”
Napoli, however, got Italian Serie A rival AC Milan which they beat 2-1 earlier this season. The two teams are scheduled to meet on April 2 in the league. While on April 11, Napoli will travel to San Siro to take on Milan for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
Interestingly, Napoli are currently leading AC Milan in the Italian Serie A with a whopping 20 points as Milan are sitting in the 4th spot with 48 points in 26 games.
Hence, this could be seen as an easy fixture for Napoli based on the current form of Napoli and their talisman Victor Osimhen who has scored four Champions League goals and 19 league goals this season.
