Oscar-winning director and screenwriter Ben Affleck is finally turning off the Bat signal once and for all. After years of Zack Snyder fans hoping and hashtagging for a Batman feature starring and directed by Affleck, the star of the upcoming Nike biopic, Air, has officially ruled out returning to the DC Universe.
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, the former Batman says he has no problem with James Gunn and Peter Saffran’s DC Universe plans but doesn’t want any part of those movies and is moving on.
“I would not direct something for the [James] Gunn DC. Absolutely not,” Affleck said. “I have nothing against James Gunn. Nice guy, sure he’s going to do a great job. I just wouldn’t want to go in and direct in the way they’re doing that. I’m not interested in that.”
